Instant runoff
Eliminate the lowest option and transfer its ballots until one option holds a majority.
Instant-runoff (IRV) resolves a ranked ballot into a majority winner. It counts everyone's first choice; if no option has more than half, the lowest option is eliminated and each of its ballots moves to that voter's next still-standing preference. This repeats until one option clears a majority of the remaining ballots. Ballots whose ranked options are all eliminated simply drop out. Elimination ties break by fewest first-preference votes, then by a fixed order seeded from the proposal (reproducible and disclosed).
