Committee
A named group of members who decide certain votes on the community’s behalf.
Some communities do not decide everything together. A committee is a named group of members — Finance, Garden, Welcome — and a voting type can restrict a vote to it. A member can sit on any number of committees, or none, and that is separate from their role: being on a committee does not make you a facilitator or an admin.
A committee-only vote is still visible to everyone. Members who are not on the committee can read the proposal and see the result; they just do not vote in it. Turnout and the minimum vote count are measured against the committee, not the whole community.
Rosters are kept as history. When an admin changes who is on a committee, the change applies from then on — a vote that is already open keeps the roster it opened with, so joining a committee mid-vote does not let you vote in a decision already underway. Leaving the community gives up your seats; coming back does not hand them back.
